My Story…
This October marks five years since I packed up my life and moved to San Francisco for the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial for vestibular migraine at UCSF. At the time, vestibular migraine had profoundly changed my life. Dizziness, vertigo and balance issues affected how I moved through the world and what I thought my future might look like. Moving across the country for a clinical trial was a leap of faith and it changed the course of my life. UCSF became an important part of my care and San Francisco became my home. Five years later, I’m still here and I’ve turned much of what I’ve learned from living with migraine and disability into advocacy, education and work focused on making the world more accessible. That’s why participating in Miles for Migraine and supporting UCSF feels especially meaningful this year. Migraine research gave me access to treatment, hope and community when I needed them most.
